This volume considers the principles of inductively coupled plasmas, the instrumentation, the methodology and applications within the three principal areas of environmental analysis, earth science and food science. There are two chapters on ICP-MS. Sufficient detail has been provided for the volume to be useful to new user and experienced hand alike. Special attention has been focused on sample introduction techniques and user-related topics, such as isotope ratio measurements. No prior knowledge is assumed. To assist the 'hands-on' user, details of the advantages and disadvantages of the various approaches are included.
